To a new father

A wife transformed, a mother’s grace,

But in her eyes, a shadowed space.

The friend you knew, the love so bright,

Still waits for you, in fading light.

She built a life, within her core,

Yet lost herself, and craves so much more.

Hold her hand, bring her to view,

The woman shines, beside the new.

Don’t see just a mother, in her gaze,

Embrace the wife, in love’s sweet maze.
